Thanks for the comment! 🙂 I think he’s summed up the reason I finally started writing books. Too much of what I purchased, and then abandoned, felt like it had been written for the sole purpose of making money. I hoped – before I die – to learn to write a book that hurts: hurts to write, hurts to read, hurts more once finished.

If we aren’t trying to move the world, just an inch, then why write? Surely there are easier ways to bleed.

Thanks Bill, These are very inspiring. Reading about how other writers think and feel, makes me feel as if I have finally found my tribe. For most of my life, I’ve felt out of place when speaking, now I know it’s just because i often think and speak like a writer. (hopefully some day I’ll write like one too!)

Thanks for commenting. In regards to writing like a writer, remember another quote from James Michener: “I’m not a very good writer, but I’m an excellent re-writer.” You don’t have to get it right the first time. Art is never perfect. 🙂
