Woman’s Wings

Brown, her shattered fleshy wings
Bear her not to azure skies
Earthbound she, not of the clouds
Sun-bronzed, useless wings behind

Frozen face of solemn smile
Closed eyes kiss the warming sun
Flightless, flapping wings that fail
Mind won’t ever come undone

Hope’s ahead, just waiting, waiting
Past her puerile fevered pace
No terrene ties from shadowed sophists
Woman’s wings are meant for grace.
