shattered

I have no mouth
yet I must scream
of sudden stops
and dead end streets
of one who fell there
never knowing
whispers that his
Lord foretold

I vent and rage
infernal anger
in waves that ebb
on distant shores
or newborn love
and dreams now stillborn
of she now shattered
now, forlorn

I scream the name
that no one hears
and tear my flesh
to rend it raw
My blood flows black
yet no one sees
I know I scream
but hear no sound

And for them, dying,
decades early
teardrops wiped
by Father’s touch
I cry, my silent
hollow laughter
for I must laugh
yet, have no joy.

    1. Thank you. I’ve come to the realization that people like all the poems I thought were crap and vice versa. So now, if I hate it when I finish, I post it. True story. 🙂
