So, I’ve begun work on my next book, which I’ll be releasing as a web serial. It’s a post-apocalyptic tale set at the turn of the 22nd century. While it does have familiar elements of such tales (global famine, pandemic, etc.), it is done with a twist.
I started out with futurists’ projections that they laid out in 3 different possible timelines through 2060, and selected elements from each that I thought plausible. Then, I added my own … twists. I think it will be a fun journey.
(One hint, I don’t believe that the end of one civilization necessarily means the end of all civilization. My problem with many post-apocalyptic stories is the unyielding gloom. The world changes, but the human determination to thrive does not. Besides, the world, the cosmos itself, abhores a vacuum.)
The difficulty in writing a believable world, beginning in the year 2113, is that you really need to know what has happened until then. So, before I get to the main body of the work, I’ll release a prologue, timelines, and maybe a few other goodies so that folks can get in the right mindset.
